Well, I’m probably going to have to hit a lottery jackpot before I can begin concerning myself with sexy island women. Of course, that same lottery win would also relieve most of my financial stress. That in itself would be a plus. If it’s a big enough jackpot, I’d just say to hell with studying and certifications and start working on my tan and dye my hair blonde.

The article was about 75% tongue-in-cheek (facetiousness). I never had any illusions that my suggestions would start any worldwide upheaval in the geek community. In reality, GNU/Linux will most likely continue to be shortened to just Linux by most.

The comparison to users of Microsoft Windows version whatever is not compelling precisely for the reason the FSF will continue to insist on the current convention. Namely, that “Linux” requires the preceding “GNU” in order to remind and preserve the origin of the operating system as being built from GNU software. To change this for sake of your convenience is, with all due respect, a seemingly self-serving proposal. Principle is not contingent on comfort, convenience or preference. It appears that the principle the convention is founded on has been disregarded which, in itself, speaks to the unlikelihood of your argument being persuasive. However, I may need to understand the context better if I’ve misunderstood your post.
